The Poughkeepsie Galleria was built back in 1987. At that time the South Hills Mall right next door was thriving. Apon the completion of the Galleria it began to slowly suck the life out of it. In 2009 the indoor South Hills Mall as it was known was demolished leaving it a former broken up shell of itself. Over the last few decades it has managed to build itself back up to a strip mall of sorts. Through those years the Poughkeepsie Galleria has managed to maintain, even surviving covid as other malls like The Hudson Valley Mall in Kingston have been looking like they're on the brink of extinction. Though it is not thriving as it's former new self, the Galleria still holds down a fair number of mainstream stores. Macy's, Best Buy, Target, Spencer's, and Hot Topic, etc. to name a few. It also has a Regal Galleria Mall movie theater for your movie pleasures. If you are looking for a place to shop in the Poughkeepsie area, the Poughkeepsie Galleria is still a solid choice for your shopping needs. If your looking for a similar indoor mall shopping experience, your next best choices would be in Middletown, N.Y. at the Galleria at Crystal Run, or in Danbury, Ct. at the Danbury Fair (mall

Poughkeepsie Galleria – A Great Place to Shop, Walk, and Spend the Day The Poughkeepsie Galleria absolutely deserves a full 5-star review from me. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why this mall remains one of the best places in the Hudson Valley to shop and relax. The mall has a huge variety of stores, so no matter what you’re looking for — clothes, shoes, electronics, furniture, gifts, or even a snack — you’ll always find something. It’s the kind of place where you can walk in with no plan and walk out with a great deal and a good experience. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and well taken care of. You don’t feel rushed or crowded, and the layout makes it easy to move around and explore at your own pace. There are plenty of comfortable spots to sit, the food options cover everything from quick bites to full meals, and the holiday decorations always bring the place to life. One thing I appreciate most is how friendly and helpful the employees are throughout the mall. Expecting the usual crowded ambiance of a typical mall, we entered only to feel quite otherwise!!! Very well spread out and spacious, the mall houses a number of brand outlets and provides plenty of scope for young kids to expend their energy. Much quieter than expected, the shopping could be done in an unhurried and leisurely manner. The food court was a pitstop for most shoppers, while Target offered a chance to do the daily grocery shopping, as well. Plenty of seating options available along the corridors was a blessing to take breaks in between bursts of shopping or just browsing. Overall, we had a relaxed afternoon on a weekend. Time well spent, indeed.

What can i say? It’s a good little mall and i love it . The coziness, the quiet atmosphere and beautiful decor and layout. I love how its always clean and is so quiet and never too busy . Just a great mall in Poughkeepsie. And this mall isnt dying, just not as busy.. give it a chance.

Nice clean mall to walk around, eat and shop. It offers all typical services and stores one expects to find in a mall, and has a 16-room movie theater too. Prices are overall reasonable and one can find the occasional great sale. It gets quite busy during the holidays, not so on a regular day. It could use more built-in restaurants. Plenty of parking is available.
